BIOGRAPHY:
Frank SImon - Monica Timperi was born in Rome.
After getting a degree at
the Liceo Linguistico, she joins sociology at the Sapienza University and
works as a p.r. for some Roman joints.
Work get heavier and heavier and she
leaves University abd becomes pr for famous clubs in town like Gilda and
Alien.
In I966 they start Showtime and Monica takes care of the commercial
side of it making a success of her partner's Bandinelli's movies. After the
'Gioventù bruciata' (Burned youth) signed by Frank Simon but turned by
Bnadinelli , Working as co-director on Bandinelli's set gives her experience
and starts signing as Frank Simon the movie, with the help of Bandinelli.
She's the only woman directore in Italy.
There are other women signing
movies , but they don't really shoot.
Among her successes 'Grazie zia' with
Ursula Cavalcanti and Pulp, one of the most original and intelligent movies
on the hard European scene.
